Seven Questions for Jacqueline Bach

Image
This week's #SevenQuestions are directed at the lovely miss Jacqueline Bach. I have known Jackie for more than five years now - after I butted in on a conversation she was having twitter - and, since then, she's proven to be a great friend, supporter, Harry Potter superfan, and poster of pony videos lol. A visit on my blog is long overdue, so I will waste no more time...over to you, Jackie... Jackie and her critters! 1 - Which character from another book/series would you like to bring into your own book/series? Duh, Harry Potter (but my own version of him), or really any of the awesome minor characters -- I loved Sirius Black and Remus Lupin and would totally hi-jack those guys if I had the chance. Also Luna Lovegood, she was a great character too. Really, there are too many characters in that world that are great....I need to go back and re-read those books again! 2 - Which actor/actress would you love to see play your characters in a movie adaptation? Oh, this is...

Seven Questions for Lo-arna Green

Image
It's #SevenQuestions time again. Lucky number twelve on the blog is Lo-arna Green. Just to prove that not all writers who appear on my blog are from North America, Lo-arna is a writer and poet who hails from the spider-infested hellscape of Australia. Not only have the spiders not gotten her yet, but she also had time to answer a few of my silly questions. Be sure to check out her links at the end of the interview! 1 - Who would play you in a movie version of your life? Someone very clumsy and gremlin-like. 2 - If you weren't able to write, how would your creativity manifest itself? I always wanted to be an actress, more so than a writer. My Mum thought I was funny. She used to say, “acting won’t pay the bills, you need a back up job. What will that be?” I would always answer the same, “writing,” she would laugh and shake her head. I’m not a conventional person. I never will be… so I guess I would do that if I wasn’t able to write. I would love to paint and draw bea...

Seven Questions for Jennifer Gracen

Image
Jennifer Gracen has been my pal since I stumbled onto twitter and figured I'd give NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) a go. A vocal and passionate cheerleader for writing and writers, she's the prodigious author of several romance series. (Seasons of Love, The McKinnon Brothers, and The Harrisons) Jennifer's also a big fan of all things Celtic, particularly Scotland, so if she's not penning another romance novel she's likely watching Outlander. I wouldn't bother her while she's watching Sam Heughan lol. Please check out Jennifer's webpage link below to see her books. But first...    1 - Which actor/actress would you love to see play your characters in a movie adaptation? I don’t often have set celebrities in mind when I write a book, but for MORE THAN YOU KNOW, I very much did. Henry Cavill is my Dane Harrison, and Christina Hendricks is my Julia Shay. Can you imagine how hot those two would be onscreen together? Let’s get this movie going!...

Seven Questions for Gordon Bonnet

Image
Writer...teacher...blogger...runner...player of several musical instruments...Gordon usually does more before lunch on a Monday than I get done all week. Despite that he still had time to stop by and answer #SevenQuestions. Show off. 1 - Which actor/actress would you love to see play your characters in a movie adaptation? Right now I’m working on the fifth in my series called the Parsifal Snowe Mysteries, which are murder mysteries that center around a detective agency whose staff all have different psychic abilities. For Seth Augustine, the dashing and suave psychometer — who can pick up emotional traces from objects people handle — I think it’d have to be Liam Hemsworth. His girlfriend Bethany Hale, who has precognitive dreams, I’m thinking Zooey Deschanel, who could pull off the elegant, intelligent character she is. My favorite of the detectives, Callista Lee, is a telepath; she’s the oddest of the regular characters, and has an eerie streak that makes me think of Ve...

Seven Questions for Vania Rheault

Image
Today I'm very happy to welcome the vivacious Vania Rheault to this venerated blog. As usual, I've vigorously asked ALL the vital questions in the hope for some valid and vivid responses. Okay, I'll be quiet now. Ahem. Vania Rheault Are you scared of running out of ideas? No. If anything, I am the complete opposite. I have so many ideas right now and it’s so frustrating writing takes so much time! Right now I am writing a naughty novella series I plan to self-publish. I’m also working on my NaNoWriMo project from last year. Incidentally, that project spawned a sister that I am 12,000 words into. I don’t want to waste a 75,000 word manuscript, but I don’t have the heart to fix it right now. I wrote a short story some time ago that I would love to see written into a full length novel or trilogy. I have two YA novels bumping around in my head. I also would love to start a tart-noir series about a female detective. Everyone talks about growing up Nancy Drew, but I wo...

Gina West's Not-so-Hostile Takeover (Part 1)

Image
Hello everyone! Regina West here. How are you all doing? Today, I’ve donned my leather boots and my favorite corset and whipped the Spartan into submission so that I could take over his blog! He's currently whimpering in the corner. (There, there, Gareth. Yes, you may kiss my boot. Such a good little Spartan.) Kidding, kidding. Mostly. I met Gareth on Twitter where our first conversation was about music and playing guitar. I made the mistake of bragging that I knew how to play a Scottish folk song, and he promptly challenged me to record myself playing it. Although my strumming fingers went numb at the mere mention, I, nevertheless, recorded the song (about 50 times until I got it right) and sent it along with apologies for my clumsy playing. True to form, Gareth was gracious and supportive and forcibly overlooked all my missed notes, a kindness I very much appreciated. Since then, we’ve talked about everything from writing (obviously) to olives (he hates them; I lov...

Bright Lights #9 - Melodie Ramone - After Forever Ends

Image
I'm biased, I admit it. Despite having lived in the US for *counts on fingers* several years, I still consider myself Scottish. I like to promote all things Scottish, whether its the proper pronunciation of words or reminding everyone of the fact that everything was invented by the Scots, I'm there. (NOTE: Everything WAS invented by the Scots. That's no idle boast. We can argue about that later...) So, when I was introduced to Melodie and found out her book contained a Scottish character and that she herself had some Scottish blood running through her veins, I had to interview her. Fortunately, she agreed and so without further ado...I give you Miss Melodie Ramone Melodie Ramone Q - Hello Melodie, tell me a little about your book After Forever Ends.  After Forever Ends is the life story of a simple, yet extraordinary Scottish girl who meets an anything but average Welsh boy that changes her world forever. The book is really about a lot of things. It’s ...

Bright Lights #2 - Carey Heywood - A Bridge of Her Own

Image
The second patient on my operating table...ready for dissection...hmmm, this intro is a little on the serial killer side. Let me try again. My second unsuspecting victim...ugh...just roll with it... ...is the delightful Carey Heywood. Many of you may know her from Twitter, or the surrounding internetosphere, and she has graciously accepted my invite to swing by my wee blog and answer a few of my questions. I bumped into Carey on twitter and despite the fact she's happily married and a proud mama with younglings, she made me her twitter husband. The relationship was rocky from the outset due to my lack of "Swedish Fish" knowledge. I think we weathered that storm and have survived about 100 tweets since then. I still haven't tasted a Swedish Fish but fortunately Christmas approaches, her new book is available to buy on the Kindle site and she's in a forgiving mood!  So without further ado...and while she's still talking to me... Carey Heywood ...
